Graphic Design Worlds is the first serious overview show about graphic design in Italy. The largest design museum in Italy, a lot of well known names involved, many different ‘flavours’ or point of view on what graphic design can or should be.

Thinking of the state of things in Berlusconi’s Italy, the image of an inferno caused by ruthless hedonism came to mind…

Looking for common graphic abstractions of fire and flames that I could work with, I came across packaging design of charcoal that offered all elements I needed for this print.

Many of these stick to a few basic rules about composition and colour, that were translated to semi-transparent screenprinting inks. In addition I’m increasingly interested to work with commercial photorealistic vector drawings bought from Shutterstock that sometimes save time and often bring new ideas.
