UPFRONT – The billboard at the Gerrit Rietveld academie
The billboard at the Gerrit Rietveld academie is a stage for printed art, design and (school)announcements. Throughout the years it also functioned as a showcase of what is possible at the school’s screenprinting shop, seducing students to come down and try this versatile technique for themselves.
The book was conceived, designed and produced as a farewell present for Kees Maas, who supervised the screenprinting workshop with heart and soul from 1996 to 2019.

Graduation Show Posters 1987–2018
From ’90s boy bands, shocking signatures, world maps, peckish beaks, and magic mushrooms, visit the basement of the Rietveld (RV) Building to view the physical archive of the Academie’s graduation posters, the earliest from 1987 and the most recent from last year. Produced using an array of print methods across time—Screen Printing, Book Printing, Offset, Digital—these posters are visual marks in the illustrious history of the Academie.
The graduation show poster archive was earlier compiled by Henk Groenendijk.

At home with Rietveld Graduation posters
A little taste of Amsterdam here in the woods of Arnhem: two wonderful graduation posters made for and at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie, a souvenir in memory of my job as workshop supervisor there.
Washi Washi??
Couldn’t help spending some money on beautiful rolls of MT and masté washi masking tape. But… what am I going to do with it?

R.I.P. Unico
Sadly my trusted ink manufacturer Unico, located in Ternat, Begium went bankrupt.
I’ve been using their high quality AQ waterbased inks for almost 20 years, and with pleasure. It won’t be easy to find an alternative…
