Former Studio 1

Since I moved to Amsterdam in 1994, I’ve shared many studios with various people. All together, I’ve worked at 11 different locations, a reason to keep things compact and light. This cosy 20 m2 studio at the Elandsstraat, served me well from 2008 to 2015.

While being a student at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie, Kees Maas introduced me to the principles of the screenprinting process. Since I graduated in 1998, most of my printing was done at his screenprinting shop/ publishing house Kees Maas Zeefdruk/Interbellum Grafiek in Amsterdam Noord.

Kees and me were collegues at the same Rietveld Academie, running the shop for screenprinting on paper together from december 2010 until july 2015.
