Meiji, gummi sweets wrapping, 2001.

By trying woodblock printing during a 2004 masterclass with Hiroshi Watanabe,
I found out that the technique of screenprinting definitely fits my need
for speed, scale and high output in a more efficient way...

The physical elements (touch, smell, layering) of screenprinted matter add a
disctinctive richness to the work. Doing most of the silkscreen prints
myself at Kees Maas' workshop/publishinghouse Interbellum, I'm free to experiment.

My Mentor, Master of the Silk Screen: Kees Maas.
From 1999 until 2002 I was part of the Golden
Masters design team,
together with graphic designer Richard
Niessen.
Today, I work both for clients and on selfcommissioned projects, either solo
or in collaboration with other artists.

When the work is done, I like to do outdoorsy things like kayakking, running and camping...
