Johann Kauth Billboard

During my first year co-running the screenprinting shop at the Gerrit Rietveld academie, the multi-talented Johann Kauth was one of the most frequent and passionate users of our facilities.

His approach is what I like to call ‘ghetto style’: spontaneous, energetic, quick and dirty. Working all night long to draw separtions manually, then printing the next day without holding back. Being the proverbial control freak myself, I admire that.

Billboard in front of the school: a platform for students and faculty with ideas that can be executed in screenprint.

Some of the work Johann did during his last year as a graphic design student. Many screenprints for OCCI, a stage for alternative music and other techniques like mimeography (stencil in Dutch).

Keep your eyes on this guy!
